To be a choral ensemble, dedicated to the Greater Kansas City Community, unifying performers and audiences through musical excellence.
Musica Vocale is an ensemble made up of highly skilled choral musicians that performs choral literature, often accompanied by orchestra, that is not often performed in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The ensemble performs a mixed variety of programs as it contains a core Chamber Ensemble of approximately 35 members and has the capacity to expand to an ensemble of approximately 60 members with full orchestra and soloists to present major oratorio works. This volunteer ensemble is comprised of veteran members of the region's musical community. Most of the choral artists bring extensive experience as music educators and performers, and are engaged throughout the region as soloists and conductors.
Mission:
Uniting friends - singers, instrumentalists andaudiences - in exceptional experiences of choral music.
Purpose:
To provide the Kansas City Area with a highly skilled ensemble that performs a wide variety of music, particularly mid-sized choral and orchestral works not often heard locally.
To encourage, through performance and commissions, the creation of new music.
To provide skilled singers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, making music which they are proud to share with the larger community.
To create community among musicians, generating a deep commitment to the music and each other.
